The short version: almost everything stays on your phone. We don’t have accounts, we don’t show ads, we don’t track you across other apps and we never sell your data. The only things that leave your phone are explained below, and none of them is your email, phone number or payment details.

Who we are

Brainstake is made by Pebblewick Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at support@getbrainstake.com.

What stays on your phone

Your game results, scores, levels, Brain Score, streaks, settings, reminder time, the answers you give in the intro and the first name you choose to give us are stored on your phone. We can’t see them. Deleting the app deletes them.

What leaves your phone, and why

Reminders and nudges are scheduled on your phone. We don’t send them from a server.

Who helps us

Some of these companies are based outside the UK. Where your data goes abroad, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

Why we’re allowed to use it

We use this information to run the features you use (the voice and the comparison), which is our legitimate interest and part of providing the app to you. You can switch the voice off at any time.

How long we keep it

Voice audio is kept so the same line can be reused. Comparison scores are kept to work out averages. Neither is linked to who you are. You can ask us to delete anything tied to your install ID at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@getbrainstake.com. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Brainstake isn’t meant for children under 13, and Savage mode uses strong language. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change how we use data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes will also be shown in the app.
